I know that the statement contained in the title of this blog is dramatic, but as dramatic as it is, I assure you that it is real. At MoveUp we have proof of change.
On this occasion, and for such purposes, I present to you Agustina and some details about her, so that we can put this great woman’s story in context.
Agustina is a 55-year-old Dominican mother of 4 adult children who lives with her husband and her 13-year-old granddaughter.
She is a teacher, but for some time now she has been producing and selling Sheet Cakes as a side business. Agustina had the opportunity to graduate from college.
As you can see, Agustina does not have an ideal life, with everything in her favor, to be able to study in our app and take advantage of it. Instead, just like you, she has a job, a family and a side business, which leaves her very little time to prepare. On top of all this, she is pastor of a church, which increases the demand on her time and availability.
But even so, Agustina set out and prioritized her self-education, and thus she was able to acquire with us the knowledge that turned-around her life, her business and therefore all about her.
Agustina tells us about the impact of the app on her life:
“The app’s courses have helped me a lot. Before I started studying, our car had broken down and there was no money to fix it. When I took the course on how to separate business money from family money, I started writing what came into the business and what I was selling. I realized I was taking money out of the business and using it for personal needs, so I stopped. So we could save up to fix the car!
Now that our car works well, I applied the idea of another course: I stopped renting a place to sell my Sheet Cakes and started making home deliveries. This saves me money (I no longer have to pay rent), time (I only have to go out once a day), and allows me to be more efficient (I sell my sheet cakes, then collect the other materials I need to make more).
I learned from the social media webinar that I could ask my son to help me with that part of the business. He helped me design a beautiful photo for my business. Now, every time I’m getting ready to make a delivery, I upload the photo to my social networks and my friends and clients call me to place orders. This way we sell more!
In addition, the Business Hygiene course was very important to me. Before, I didn’t wear a hairnet or gloves when selling, now I always wear both during my deliveries.
I will always continue to take courses and will encourage my granddaughter to take them too (she started learning to read and write). I even go back and take again classes to earn all the stars!”.

Change is not magical
Returning to our dramatic title, although what you read in it is real, it does not happen by magic.
The transformation and change that occurs in the lives of the people who use our platform does not happen just because or without effort. Like most things that are worthwhile in this world, talking about transforming our lives is no exception, and it is necessary to prioritize the desire to learn and, after learning new knowledge, it is time to PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.
Knowledge without exercise is like wanting to eat a delicious recipe without preparing it. The components alone will not produce the great food we want. To obtain it, we must do the work of preparation and cooking.
Going back to the title of this blog, as Agustina tells you, with dedication, effort, study and application, the change of your life is possible.
