Marlena is CSO (Chief Strategic Officer) and one of the founders of MoveUp.

Marlena started out as MoveUp’s first Program Director. After forming the MoveUp organization, her business model, her local team, and getting its first clients, she entrusted the operations to Píndaro Peña to begin her new role as CSO.

In this new position, Marlena is in charge of managing MoveUp’s strategic direction, fostering alliances, and analyzing trends and opportunities in the LATAM and Caribbean market, to ensure MoveUp’s healthy growth.

Marlena has years of experience working in the field with nonprofits in strategic planning, program development, measurement and evaluation, and technology pilots.

Marlena has a BA in Spanish and Business with a concentration in Marketing from Calvin University and is currently pursuing her MBA at McCombs School of Business.
